RESEARCH THEMES

I am Full Professor at the Department of Earth Science at the University of Paris Saclay.

The topic of my research activities is the reconstruction of Quaternary climate changes using a multiple disciplinary approach (geochemistry, micropaleontology, tephrochronology, 14C  radiochronology) to study deep sea sediments.

My objectives are based on the reconstruction of the chronology, the duration and the mechanisms of past climate changes. The temporal framework is defined, if possible, by tephrochronology, a powerful tool for stratigraphically and chronologically correlating climatic events in order to verify the potential existence of synchronous or asynchronous events at a regional and inter-hemisphere scale.

My investigations are principally carried out in the South-Eastern Pacific sector of the Southern Ocean and in the Mediterranean Sea.
