RESEARCH THEMES

Associate professor at Paris-Saclay University since 2020, I am specialized in 40Ar/39Ar geochronology (on tephras and reworked pyroclastic deposits) applied to Quaternary archives.

My current researches aim to establish the chronology of Lower and Middle Palaeolithic archaeological sites as well as palaeoclimatic and palaeoenvironmental records of Western Europe, especially from the Mediterranean area, to synchronize and correlate them using the same geochronological tool.

Specifically, I participate to several projects interconnected by the use of tephrochronological approaches. Additionally to the establishment of chronological contexts for numerous archaeological sites, these main projects are dedicated to the tephrochronology of various Italian volcanic complexes (Vico, Vulsini, Sabatini, Ernici / Volsci, Vulture, Campi Flegrei) and to the study of palaeoenvironmental archives such as the palaeolacustrine basins of Fucino and Sulmona (Central Italy) and the Middle Pleistocene Tiber Valley fluvial terraces (central Italy).
