RESEARCH THEMES

My research activities focus on understanding the mechanisms of climate change at the scale of glacial and interglacial cycles.

To do this, I use several tools or geochemical and mineralogical tracers applied to various constituents of marine sediments, most notably foraminifera (benthic and planktonic).

One aspect of my work involves studying the elemental geochemical- (inputs of Mg/Ca, Sr/Ca, etc.) and isotopic (stable isotopes of carbon δ13C and oxygen δ18O) signals recorded by modern foraminifera in order to improve their use for fossil specimens which can be used to reconstruct paleoenvironments.

Another aspect of my research activities focuses on developing dating methods in order to construct a chronology for paleoclimatic records. In particular, I work with C14 and Uranium series (U/Th method), which are applied to marine sediments and terrestrial archives (alteration profiles).
